Mount Serene was amazing, peace and quiet and private. Mount Serene Stone cottage was exactly what we needed. If you want no distractions and time alone with your partner, to bond and spend quality time together you need, not look any further. The fireplace inside made the cold nights warm and Romantic.

Our stay was nice. Glenda was the perfect hostess. The cottage was neat and all the necessary supplies for self catering were there. The shower needs some attention as the water temperature didn’t stay constant while showering. We will definitely go back.

Lovely weekend away The coach is really something impressive and the kids loved it. Spacious with a private splash pool, patio area with braai facilities and functional kitchen. Couldn’t ask for more if you just want some private R&R

We had a great time at Mount Serene. Peaceful and quite, just what we both needed. No rush or excessive noise. We felt welcome and at home. I would recommend this resort to anybody who need rest.

Kwirky accommodation, the kids were so excited! As you would expect from a train, the passage is narrow, but it is surprisingly roomy! The kitchen is well equipped, only thing lacking is an oven, but one gets by without a hitch. I loved it. The quality of the wood that these trains were built from is stunning. I would really recommend it for a fun weekend away. Don’t expect an ordinary holiday.

The “Serene” of Mount Serene, this was exactly what we wanted, peace and quiet. A cozy little place, self catering, neat and clean… perfect ! The only slight flaw is there are no steps to sit on in the pool…

A very unique experience, the carriage is just about completely original and brings back memories of train travel many years ago.
Everything we needed was there, and the bed was very comfy. I was woken by the sweet sound of swallows chirping outside the window.
For bird lovers, this destination is fantastic with birds around us all day.

We had a lovely weekend! The Stone Cottage is the perfect place to break away, peaceful and secluded and stocked with everything you need. The walking trail was quite something and the splash pool a winner. Will definitely return for a longer stay.

Die trein was ‘n droomwêreld vir die kinders. Alles in die trein was so mooi en skoon. Alles wat ons benodig het, was daar vir ons.
Ons het lekker teen die berg opgestap en die oulike plaashond het heeltyd saam met ons geloop.
Regtig waarde vir geld, ons wou nie huis toe gaan nie.

Secluded, privacy and peace! A much needed break from the city – we did not want to leave the peace and serenity we found there. Adding sunbeds or comfy outside chairs would be the only extra thing that I would suggest.
